Responsibilities: plans,
organizes and directs a program to ensure individual member retention
and growth. Conducts ongoing membership building programs and
efforts. Works with groups inside and outside Toastmasters to
promote Club membership. Maintains membership roster and
attendance records.
At the Club meeting:
- Greet guests warmly and
have each sign the guest book
- Report on current membership,
promote membership campaigns, and welcome new members
- Work with the President and VP,
Education to ensure each new member is formally inducted at the first
meeting after being voted in by the Club
- Help guests wishing to join
complete the Application for Membership
- Speak with fellow members to
determine if their needs are being met
- Write a "new member" profile for
Club newsletter, if one exists.
Outside the meeting:
- Conduct ongoing membership
building programs and efforts
- Promote the membership goal of
one new member per month
- If the Club has fewer than 20
members, promote achieving 20 members by year end (June 30th) or
sooner
- Promote Club and Toastmasters
International membership building programs
- Conduct a minimum of 2 formal
Club membership programs annually
- Followup on and keep track of
guests, new members joining, and members not attending meetings.
Telephone, send note or email guests.
- For all prospective members,
explain the educational program, get their commitment to join, and
collect membership applications
- Bring the application to the
Club for voting, and , if the members are accepted, collect dues and
fees and give them to the Treasurer with the applications
- Attend Club Executive Committee
meetings
- Attend semi-annual
District-sponsored Club officer training
- Arrange for a replacement
- Prepare successor for office.
