Nepean Wingtalkers Toastmasters Club

Specializing in Communications and Leadership!

Nepean Wingtalkers meets every Wednesday between 12:00 and 1 PM in the General Burns Lodge (86 Argue).   Holiday Schedule:  No meetings will be held Dec 21st and Dec. 28th.

 General Burns Lodge

Getting there:  From Fisher (heading south), turn right onto Normandy, then turn left onto Argue drive, then keep making left turns at street corners until you arrive at the parking lot.  You will see the Lodge (in winter, skating rink is visible to right; in summer, tennis courts are to your left).

Our members come from all walks of life - government employees, private company employees, authors, self-employed persons, retirees, etc.  All have a desire for self-growth!

Learn to be a better communicator and leader!  Toastmasters offers a supportive environment to learn and practice effective public communication and leadership skills.

All visitors are welcomed!

Contact person:  Membership Bill Wright at toastmasters@billwrightspeaks.com or 613-226-6637

Our annual membership costs are very reasonable - only $ 96.

There are other ways to gain communication and leadership skills by taking courses for a brief period.  Here are some cost comparisons:

Local college – 4 day program - $400

Dale Carnegie - $1895 for 12 weekly sessions (limited locations)

One Day Communication or Leadership Workshops - $160 - $250

As you can see, Toastmasters is a bargain.  With Toastmasters, you learn and get to practice what you've learned on a continuous basis through the year.  Practice re-enforces what you've learned so that you retain the knowledge.

Toastmasters benefits include:

  • Learning – with word of the week and educational tips

  • Social – friendships developed during the meeting or at “post Toasties"

  • Mentoring - learn from a more experienced Toastmaster (Mentor), then later share your expertise.

  • Leadership – as you take on roles within the meeting

  • Communication – beginning with the Icebreaker and continuing through Table Topics and additional speeches

  • Increased Confidence – as you take on roles and give speeches

  • Monthly magazine with great articles on communication and leadership topics.
